Abby is 9!

I'm a bit late posting this, okay a lot late but at least it's getting done! April 11 was Abby's 9th birthday. We don't do friend parties every year, so this year was just family. We had a good day! And more importantly - Abby had a good day.

We decided that since it was so nice outside maybe we'd try our hand at fishing. Abby has wanted to go for so long but for one reason or another Ben's never been able to take her. She was excited! All of the kids were - even Allie. So we headed up to Ashton Reservoir where we could not find a spot to fish! It was all private property! We found a break in the fence and it looked like a good fishing spot, so we thought it was okay to fish there. It wasn't - but the nice people didn't kick us out!

We were there for probably about 2 hrs and didn't get a single bite. The fish were jumping all around our lines just teasing us, but they didn't want to be eaten for dinner! The little girls had about had it after a while, so we came home. Too bad the fish didn't want to be caught on her birthday - although I don't know if it would have been a very good present watching her fish be gutted. Gross.

After presents we had cake and ice cream. Abby decorated her own cake and since the middle of it fell, it became the lake that we fished in complete with fish and bait!

Anyways - we love you so much Abby! You bring happiness and light into our family and we're so thankful for you and your sweet smile. Thank you for being such a good girl!
